PHOTOS TELL THE STORY
I've been really impressed with Rej's dedication to running. I never would have imagined that this was the sport that she would pick up and enjoy. Last weekend, a group of her friends spent the night in a hotel and ran the Susan G. Komen race for breast cancer. My kids have an awesome role model to follow after.
About a month ago, I was in New York for some meetings. The family came along, since the kids were off school. We took a ferry into NCY and passed by the Statue of Liberty. This was my first time seeing her that close and personal. Yes, I was moved, and tearful. What a wonderful emblem to remind American's of our freedom. I thought about all of the New Yorkers who take that ferry every single day, many of whom where sitting inside, on the other side of the boat, away from the tourist. Do they still feel giddy inside when they see Ms. Liberty?
I made two presentations to the Society of Adventist Communicators in Chicago last week. The first one was called, "Media Management and Campaigns for Non-Profits" and Emerging Trends in Social Media. The lectures went well, I believe. This is one of the few organizations that send their presenters a copy of the evaluations, so I am looking forward to reading them when they get back.
While in Chicago I visited the offices of GolinHarris, a public relations firm that is known for their major accounts, and first class clients. This picture is of their "bridge room" where the keep track of what is happening in the media at all times.
Another visit that I made to while in Chicago was the offices of Christianity Today. I've been a long time reader of that magazine, and the Leadership Journal. This is an actual working office of one of their editors. They said this is the most photographed room in their building. No wonder! I was thinking, it would be sad when this guy is fired, and he has to box up all of this book. Whew!
Earlier today, I had coffee with one of my church members who is an Alcoholic. I was checking in with her and seeing how she is progressing. As we were talking, I was fiddling with her new iPhone, and checking out the apps that she has. She has a 12 Step Recovery App, which I opened to look at. This is a screen show of her app. I started laughing. Obviously I haven't she hasn't registered the app yet.
Eli is going through his 6 year old phase. Can you do this with your nose? I can't.
If you have opened up a Hall's cough drop recently, you will notice the inside wrapper has pithy notes of encouragements. If you are sick, with a cough, you probably could use some extra cheer to keep you going.
A few of ground zero from a near by hotel. Pretty amazing.
I've been thinking about getting a new computer. I've had this laptop for almost five years, and it is time to move forward. The only thing is, I am not sure laptops are the next step to move in. So I tried an experiment today. I grabbed my wireless keyboard and synced it with my iPad. It worked beautifully. I had a hour this morning before I was supposed to meet someone, so I worked on a chapter for my new book. This worked well. I am thinking this is the way to move. Out: Laptop. In Tablets.
Have you had the Hot Chocolate from Starbucks. Beautiful and Yummy.
I have two flat feet. It has never really bothered me, until now. Painful, sore, and uncomfortable. I saw a podiatrist this week. This makes me feel ollllllllllllld.
